I want to buy a Nintendo DS or DS Lite, it will be second hand, what are the differences? Is it worth spending more for a DS Lite? Do the batteries get worse with age or useage (for example, like the Ipods do)?

Nintendo DS lite though these may be a more expensive. The screen is brighter and the shape is more compact. It's hard wearing, strong and possibly longer lasting than the DS. Also you have the choice of colour as DS is silver while DS lite you've got blue, black, white and pink. Though the games make no difference some of the accessories may e.g. cases and skins. Like anything the older one will properly become out of fashion and fewer shops will stock it over the DS lite.
Batteries will be affected by useage like anything, but they can be replaced

The difference lies in the name, seriously. DS lite has repaired almost all of the flaws from the original DS. DS lite is smaller, operates so much longer, the screen is brighter and even the buttons feel so much classier.

However if you are in a budget, you can save a few dollar buying the former, if you don't mind the original flaws. I am not sure about the baterries though, but batteries do lose its capacity with age and every charge, so then just change the batteries,

I used to have the normal DS in pink and now I have the DS Lite in pink. The DS Lite is better as it is smaller and it doesn't weigh as much. It is easier to hold too and the screen is much brighter. Also the battery life is a bit better too! Go for the Lite.

i have bought my son a ds and a ds lite.simply for the fact that the top snapped off the bottom of the ds .The ds lite is more robust around the hinges ,the screen size is the same and the buttons are the same id go for the ds lite because the top wont brake off the bottom as easy.

The DS Lite is thinner and the screen can light up when you press a certain button. That is the only difference.

The Lite is smaller, weighs less and has a brighter screen. It also looks a lot better.

The battery does hold less charge over time, but this is true of all devices that use rechargable batteries.
