A friend is coming to live here in Germany, (Hannover to be precise) I have told him I will help find accommodation. Anyone have any ideas how to go about getting a shared apartment or bedsit or something in Germany...

Look in the local paper. There are hundreds of flat shares there. Select Hannoversche Allgemeine Zeitung in the Ausgabenpool for local listings.

I can tell you that there is a sort of bar annex brewery in Hannover that I strongly advice you to stay away from. Seriously. I am not joking here. Don't go there or you'll be sorry.

Tell them to check craigslist>Germany>Hannover. That should have listings and some photos...

Hannover is very busy during trade fairs and there must surely be excess accomodation when the trade fairs are not running.
