I was on the pill for 15 yrs. You can do anything, within reason, while on the pill. They suggest that if you are a smoker then you should cut down or quit. I smoked the whole time I was on the pill with no problems.
Just make sure the pharmacist knows you are on the pill when you have to get antibiotics as the pill can reduce the effectiveness of them. When you get legs cramps, keep track of them, as sometimes leg cramps are the warning that you might have a bllod clot in your leg.
Basically talk to your Dr, or Gyna about it. Remember the pill only STARTS to be effective as birth control after 2 months.
It is possible to get pregnant while on the pill, not normal, but possible.
Yaz seems to be the best one out there from what I've read so far. But again, talk to your Dr or Gyna about all the pros and cons of being on the pill. And remember, the older you are, the higher the chances of blood clots, strokes, etc.
I went off at age 35.

In theory you should be able to do everything. What you should be conscious about however are the possible side-effects, ranging from feelings of bloatiness to episodes of thromboses. It is important to consider the fact that you're on the pill when, for example, you're about to go on a long haul flight. Also, some anitbiotics may inhibit the effectiveness of the pill, and if you throw up right after you've swallowed the pill you may also be at risk of an unwanted pregnancy that month. Your gynaecologist however is the best person to give you advice on the matter, so my advice would be to visit a reputable gynaecologist and learn all the facts.

The main thing you SHOULDN'T do is smoke. Birth control pills may cause blood clots in some women and smoking increases the chances of this happening, especially if you are over 35 years old. Also, don't take for granted that you won't get pregnant. If used correctly, you won't...however, you aren't protected from STD's.

The pill was developed so you can have sex and not get pregnant. Your not suppose to do it for at least 1 month when your starting out on the pill so your body can get use to the hormone change. If you do decide to do it whithin that time period use a condom or you run a higher risk of getting pregnant. Even after that month is over, use a condom. It reduces the risk of Pregnancy all together, not to mention STD's.

Its not good if you smoke and take the pill at the sme time. Also it doesn't protect against STDs so if your not sure about your partner you should still use a condom. And don't forget that you should take the pill for one full month before it starts working and you can have sex and not get pregnant

Firstly you should have a complete checkup and make sure you have no medical problems. There are complications with the pill if you smoke (bloodclots). Please get the advice from a physician or a legitimate medical website.
