My housemate's hamster just gave birth to 3 babies and we don't know what to do? Should we separate them? Should we feed them? Answers needed. Thank's.

Make sure the male hamster is out of the cage. Leave the mother alone, unless she is showing signs of being overly nervous, or moving the babies to different places in the cage more than once a day. If she starts doing either of these things, put a small (the size of a quarter) piece of raw bacon in the cage for her. I know this sounds crazy, but sometimes mother hamsters will eat their babies. They do this most of the time because of a sodium deficiency. She will consume the raw bacon and will not eat the babies. Otherwise, just leave her and the babies alone. Do not handle the babies until their eyes are open, and all of their hair has filled in.

The mother will feed them..just leave them alone. I would take out the male though just to be on the safe side. Some male animals will kill and eat their own young.

Put them in the freezer cos you dont want them to go rotten out in the sun all day......Once you decide what to do thaw them out, make soup, stir fry..........
