Get "Virtula Machine Ware" program. Then get Linux/Unix/Maccintosh, etc.
This program is GREAT! it doesn't make you partiotion your harddisk or require dual boot. It simply opens a window in which you can work on the other OS fully. It requires at least 512 MB RAM. That's AT LEAST.

yes you can set up a dual boot if you partition your hard drive. one partition for linux and one for windows 2000.
