This has happened to me a lot of times in differen places........ i happen to come across a very beautiful gal ...... i look at her n she gives me a smile ..... a sweet smile but the prob is m too shy to go n start talkin but.. i wonder wat that smile means......... happens to me everywer i go....... though i m not that bad in looks ......play guitar n some gals just rate me as coolest guy in my college.......... but i really wanna know ur guys opinion wat may be the reason of that smile and wat should i do wen i get such?

Cooee curious! A smile is a smile is a smile. It is the first offering to open-ness. Are you up yourself or just shy? There is nothing like a smile to open a conversation. One talks to a smile. I'm not a 'guy' but I'm probably old enough to be your grandmother - but I can tell you this: if someone 'smiles' at you: talk to that person! You'll never know otherwise. Silly goose. If a girl smiles at you then smile back. Maybe be really daring & say "Hi" or "How are you doing?" It can't hurt to be friendly. You'll have to overcome your shyness if you want to meet any of them. If they're anything like me, I never make the first move. If my boyfriend hadn't approached me I wouldn't have met him. Even though we'd exchanged smiles & pleasantries. He made the first move (the first night that I played at a local bar, as a singer/songwriter/guitarist I was really nervous & after my set he raised his arms in the air & said "I'm your biggest fan!" It was cute & definitely got my attention. He flirted with me each time I went there after that, and finally he got the nerve to come over & introduce himself formally.)
If a woman smiles at you, you can usually tell by the smile whether she finds you attractive. So flirt back! See where it goes! Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
It sounds as though you are attractive & if you play guitar then you're definitely cool! Rock on!

Depends mate, might just mean that she got eye contact and does not know what to do. Might mean she likes the look of you, might even be a pity smile or just that she is happy.
If I were you I would pluck up the courage and talk to her, the more you do it the easier it gets. Life is too short to sit there worring about it, would it not be better to be talking to your now girlfriend about how shy you felt before you approached her?
