Hi, I have problems with my 96 lancer, when I'm driving and accelerating my car screeches for a brief moment then stops, i have tried to replicate the noise when stationary but it seems that the screech only happens when the car is moving...what could it be?
i've also got another problem with the car in that when im turning and have it on full lock the car starts screeching...any ideas how to solve this problem?

i have checked the CV joints at the front of the car and they are both in good condition and intact

i have also checked the tire pressure and checked all the belts i could see to make sure they were taut, so far i haven't heard any screeching coming from the car while moving or cornering so its possible that the car needs to be warm before it starts occurring, since i haven't done anything major in the way of fixing the problem i believe it will still happen so need other possibilities, i have also checked the power steering fluid and was ok

if you can't duplicate the noise at a stand still, i would doubt a loose belt. power steering is always building pressure when mtor is running. i would check for worn out parts in front suspension, or bent parts-bent steering arm on steering knuckle. did you have any parts replaced on front suspension? If so,did you have a alignment? C.V. joint axles usually make a clicking noise when turning around a corner if they are bad. Was the car in an accident and not have alignment reset?

It sounds like the belt on the power steering is actually slipping.

I would guess that you're car needs a new fan belt. Have it checked out if you can.

CV joint more than likely. The protective boot has probably torn and dirt and water has affected the joint. It was preventable.
