The word still usually refers to an ingoing activity, as in, I am still typing this answer. You can also say, "stand still." or do not move and, "keep still" which would mean to be quiet.
As a noun, a still is a device for distilling a drink, or purifying it and create an alcoholic drink like gin.

Most commonly, it is used as an adverb, meaning ancora, anche; sempre, nodimeno, tuttavia, e.g. still more = ancora più.
It is used as an adjective, in the sense of non-moving: fermo, tranquillo, quieto, cheto, calmo; silenzioso; immobile or even morto (e.g. still life = natura morta). Also, for drinks = non-spumante.
Lastly, it can be a noun, meaning lambricco, distilleria.

Well Sissi, if you stopped moving about while I explain, you would be still, but it would still take me a long time to explain. One reason is that today father has left me in charge of the still whilst he goes round with the orders for our regulars who still like a drop............ OK?
