Have you recently installed a new application/software/download.
You have the blue screen of death which occurs by faulty software or incorrect installlation.

Resart the pc in start mode and unistall any new apllications or software installed just prior to the blue screen of death.

If this problem has occured since you have owned the pc then you have a hardware conflict and this can be shown by going to:

Start menu
Applications
System Tool
System Information
System Conflicts

Again if this is a brand new problem since you have had the pc and no conflict of hardware is shown in system information then you may have a faulty harddrive or XP operating system. You may want to re-install your operating system.

You need to boot with the XP recovery disk.

1.Insert the Windows XP CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive, and then restart the computer.

Click to select any options that are required to start the computer from the CD-ROM drive if you are prompted.

2.When the "Welcome to Setup" screen appears, press R to start the Recovery Console.

At the command prompt, type in fixboot

Not sure what you have going on but it sounds as if you need to boot from your CD, format the hard drive, and load Windows fresh.

If your computer is not working properly while you are working on it, it could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software.
