2 things.
Go to Trendmicro and run housecall, this is free online service, and they get rid of a lot of bad sh*t.
The go to http://siri.geekstogo.com/SmitfraudFix.php
php
download the program and do as they tell you. This'll get rid of just about every bit of crap that's in the wild.
Download; Spyware Blaster
Download; Winpatrol
Use Trendmicro housecall regularly.
Good Luck.

At the very least have a resident Anti-virus Program on your PC and run regularly a spyware removal program such as Spybot Search & Destroy, (no charge). Also Ad-aware (no charge) will scan and remove adware. On XP run Scan Disk as a matter of course. Make these habitual and you will soon be sorted. I've noticed that these are the programs that a lot of experts recomment. I use AVG Anti-Virus for which there is no cost. Don't forget to keep definitions updated.

You have a several optiions.
1. you can just re-install your software and get rid of everything.
2.You can try a Go-Back progam
3. (i would do this) Just turn off the PC and go buy a Computer Security program, scan the PC for viruses and if there is Do whatever the program suggests.
Here are a few:
Norton
McAffee
Omniquad

The above answers should help - but if you haven't taken any steps yet to safeguard your PC, Microsoft will give your system a full/pukka scan for free. They do point out that this facility is not to replace the software you should already have (espec free progs like AVG free, Spybot, and Adaware)

first try trend housecall.http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ it's free and works well. if that doesn't work you will need to do a system restore. but before you jump on that save all you're files onto a disk so you can save those important files. when you get back on get some virus scanner or use trend housecall that will locate your problems.
