Why do the Ravens always have a good defense and a weak offense?

I believe it's their system. The teams draft players according to their needs. I'm a Steelers fan so they always draft defense. You have good players that come to a team and become great players once they get there. When they get traded they become mediocre again.

Ultimately, the character of a team is determined by its owners and GMs, and the personnel decisions they make. The philosophy of the people in charge of the Ravens has always been big defense - this is true in other perennial defense powerhouses like Chicago and Pittsburgh, as well.

The Ravens' GMs have made draft choices and free agent deals that have brought in good defensive players and defensive-minded coaches. When you put more money and effort into crafting a good D year after year, though, you have less money to spend on offense, which is why their offense has been perenially underachieving.

The reason is because Coach Billick was an Offensive Genius at Minnesota and this is the reason that he has a good offense...........Wait a minute, what I said makes no sense......How can an Offensive Genius have such a bad offense?

P.S........It's too bad that you guys wasted about 2 more Super Bowls with a Top 5 Defense (year in and out) because you can't get it together on offense.......Get some Play-making Receivers.

Since the Ravens joined the league, they were built with a strong defense and their players drafted were pr dominantly defensive players. Normally defense wins championships. In retrospect they did hold the Colts to no TD's and 5 FG"s. That's not too shabby.

I'd like to know too - but I'd say it's just the players. They have strong defensive players but shabby offensive.
