I was wondering if it might be possible to genetically engineer a bacterium that could chemiluminesce at an UV frequency. I would like to know because I believe that it could have possible therapeutic applications in MRSA infections, which are susceptible to UV rays.

Sorry - I spelled "chemiluminescence" wrong - I'm a little tired right now!

There is no guarantee. You have to try it out to find out. Do you already have a gene that can produce a protein to do what you want? If you do, check if it kills the bacteria, if not, why not?
