Customer- he is the person who buys the goods, someone who pays for goods or services.

Consumer- He is the person who finally uses or consumes the product.

In some situations Customer and Consumer can be the same person.

Both terms are generally interchanged easily, however, a customer of goods / items that are consumed (consumable items like fuel, water, food, etc) is a consumer, which is a more specific CUSTOMER.

You do not have "consumers" of Cars, but Customers of Cars, while you have consumers of fuel!
