When you buy something at Sears, and they ask for your phone number, exactly what information comes up about you on that screen? Thanks.

Your name and address if you have ever given it to them and what you have purchased in the past. Just what it was in the major appliance category, not every little panty.

They use the telephone company data base to look up where you live and also their data base to see if you are a returning customer. If you aren't in either of these data bases, they may ask for your address. You can always say no. Radio Shack is the worst about this. If you buy a battery they will ask for your phone number. If you don't like giving it out and you are not buying something with a warranty, try this it is fun. Some day when you have some free time, look up some fun numbers like the local jail or mental hospital. Have them handy and when you buy something from those places give out those numbers. :) Just don't do it if you are buying something with a warranty. Have fun.

I don't give my phone number out to any of the stores, this goes for my E-mail or, my address. I use an initial in front of my name so they don't know who I am. My friends and family know how to reach me, that's all that counts.
