You need to individually delete the history entries that you do not want. Go into the View menu - Explorer bar- History. From there select the entries you need to delete and remove only those ones. In case you delete the whole history the address bar will also appear empty. You need to do it manually I am afraid :(

Click on 'start' then 'control panel' then 'internet options'. On the opening page you will see 'browsing history'. Note that it mentions 'history' click on 'delete'. This will delete your entire history excluding the page you were on. If you require your history to disappear evry time you close down, go into 'advanced' in 'internet options' and scroll down to 'security' and TICK the box saying "empty temporary internet folder when browser is closed". This carry out this action each time you switch off your computer. Another way is to set your days for keeping 'history' to zero. (in the 'browsing history' click on 'settings' then change the figure to 0 days.

Go to start, then control panel, then internet options,then browsing history, there u can select all but history. I think u wanna delete your temporary internet files. hope i was of some help

1-Click on "tools"
2-click on "internet options"
3-You can go to "temporary internet files" and delete what you want online and off-line without deleting your history.
