You can take no action without thought, so, therefore, your thoughts control your actions.
However, when there is time for reflection, studying several sides to a question or problem gives us greater insight and impulse control. Sometimes consulting with someone else allows us to gain new perspective into a problem that we had never considered previously. Given that all of this is true, it still goes back to our thoughts controlling our actions.
On the other end of the question, sometimes the actions we take do control our thoughts. If say, a bad decision caused undue hardship on another person, or caused a tragedy of some kind, we might relive over and over again that split second that changed everything. Some people become obsessed with these thoughts, as some people become obsessed with compulsions to act. (Ocd).
So, overall you have asked a very intriguing question.

I have known too many people closely enough , myself included, to believe any other way. With out a doubt our actions come from our thoughts. When we first think something , it may feel funny to us but the more we think about it the more natural if feels. Could be either something good or bad. Case in point, a beautiful woman that I would like to date. I keep thinking of how to approach her and after a time it seems natural, so I do. If I'm single ,its good. If I'm married It not. For what its worth the bible says, As a man thinks in his heart, so he is.

Because Christians are controlling. They do not feel comfortable if tey are not controlling everyone. They certainly do NOT believe in the Bible. At least, they do NOT follow the teachings of the Bible. They do not follow the ten commandments. But, they want everyone else to. Show me a Christian that actually works 6 days a week and rests on the 7th Day. As the 4th commandment tells them to. Or a Christian that does not cause others to work on the Sabbath. . Like going to a store (where people work, so they can shop) or restaurants (to go eat after going to church), or to gas stations (where someone must be there to operate the computerized pumps and exchange cash or other forms of currency). Show me Christians who do not divorce. I am sure there are many, but I do wonder what the percentage is of those who are divorced, even tho Jesus told them not to. Show me a Christian who is NOT a hippocrite. Oh yea, they are always judging othrs, even tho God said, "Judge not" And they are always telling non Christians they are going to Hell

At times, I have a bad habit of jumping in be for I look to see if there is any water in the pond.
I tend to allow my thoughts to take over my good reason. Especially when people piss me off.
Bad habit I guess.
But I've been working on trying to think before I leap.
I would have to say, honestly, that my thoughts usually control my actions.
Sometimes, that can be good, sometimes not. I guess it depends on the situation.
I hope this is the answer you are looking for, as this is all I have.
Good luck on your quest.

Now, this is truly a thought -provoking question. Interesting! In my very honest opnion, i believe that my thoughts control my action. I think, therefore, I act. Man, as a mere human being uses his intellectual ability gained thru experience and education
to formulate ideas, opinions, concepts, decisions and conclusions. He eventually mobilizes or converts all this input into action. His actions are guided by his judgment, his sense of morality ; wisdom, principles and his character. The actions or behavior is a by-product of his principles.

My thoughts control my actions on most occasions but it doesn't always go without a fight between the two... it's a bit more complicated when it comes to reacting to certain things but I guess it's not what you are asking. I believe it's the matter of choice between thinking before you do something or you do and only then think... I won't take a risk because they might be consequesnces.

I like to think that I am strong enough and smart enough for my thoughts to control my actions more than the other way around. Acting on something without thinking it out first has usually gotten me into trouble. I think it's something we learn to do better the older we get. We become more worldly and a bit wiser from experience.

Depends on how much sense you have. If you are wise your thoughts control your actions. Just think of the domino effect whenever you do something new. It takes practice and experience though. We all screw up sometimes.

I think your thoughts control your actions because the other way around doesn't make sense unless it is an involuntary reaction that would control your thoughts.
