if you are in the UK then the chances are pretty high.
My cousin's ex wife abandoned her two sons and my cousin was left to bring them up on his own.
All of a sudden she walks back into their lives and the courts eventually give her full custody despite being a former heroin addict and prostitute who abandoned her kids to run off with a drug dealer!!
no matter what happens, whether its morally right or not, the courts always prefer for children to be with their mothers.

well i'm hoping the chance are very good but there is circumstances that will be in my favor now. however i do regret not fighting for physical custody sooner after leaving and although the father has physical custody he does not have full custody ..

depends on the state .my friend left her husband it took her about 8 months to get a new place to live a good job ,he cut her off financialy when she left ofcourse, but after 6 months in houston texas you can file abandonment papers on the parent who left and be awarded tempary custaody of the children.he still has full custody of 1 child thats his and 1 child thats not even his by blood .
