They are different, –STAR WARS– started the new ..."age" of scifi movies, everything, from "alien" to "the fifth element" comes from –STAR WARS–....And the Lord Of the Rings , started the new "age" of Fantasy movies, they are both diferent but the best in their kind! personally I love them both, but I think –STAR WARS– had a bigger impact on people, because of the time it was realised....BUT THEY ARE BOTH GREAT I LOVE THEM BOTH.....but, yes, C3P0 is more popular than smeagol......so....STAR WARS RULE!!!! And Star Wars as a real idea from the beggining.... Lord Of the Rings is a book...so that gives it less points.....dunno!....God Bless!

Lord of the rings is just the book made into a movie which isnt original. Star wars was completely original. Plus the special effects are funny.

Star Wars - it's entertaining to watch.
Lord Of The Rings - They could all do with some Prozac, and I can honestly say that I've never stayed awake through any of the three as they were too long and uneventful, most of the movies were spent looking at emotions on peoples faces as they thought about upcoming perils.
As far as I'm concerned they are all just films but Star Wars doesn't take itself seriously (some fans do but that's just weird and they should get out more)

Lord of the rings by a quite a few miles, i think that is a genius film, and unlike many other films i feel it definitely does justice to the book which is often quite hard to do. There is nothing wrong with Star Wars but certain characters irritate me...jar jar binks *ahem*.

Sumone asking tis question to me b4, n my ans is definetely go to lord of the ring, i think it a best thrilogy movie made ever. as for star wars, i watch it when i was very young ago, but now, the episode 1 till 3, i think is a boring movie, i even sleep at the halp of the movie. So, i really no a fan of star wars.
