while reading a article in wikipedia about the geforce 6200 i found out that they are actually geforce 6600,s that have been under modified and there is actually a fix that can return the 6200 to the build of a 6600
is this true,i could well believe it as most cards such as the low end 7 series cards are normally the 7900,s that didnt make the grade
has anyone heard of this?

Riva Tuner is for advanced users, maybe you should try Coolbits.

the 6600 has better cooling then the 6200, thats y the 6600 har better clock speeds. if you have a good cooling system on your pc(such as an open case or a large extra fan) you can over clock a graphics card at a risk that it will over heat. personally i never over clock anything due to the risk of reducing its lifespan. with my gigabyte 6600 i recieved a program called v tuner. maybe you recieved that program also if you have a gigabyte version. BEFORE OVER CLOCKING SOMETHING MAKE SURE THE ROOM IS KEPT COOL AND THE PC IS WELL VENTELATED!

It matters what 6200 you have, if it's the "turbo" is the crippled version and cannot be modified. If it's an actual 6200....maybe.

google and download a program called "RIVA TUNER" its free and will have lots of little settings for you to tweak, my 7800gs runs at 460mhz core clock and 1355mhz memory clock without any problems!!
