I was like you--I thought the diary was sort of boring at first, but trust me, it gets MUCH better. And, you totally have to read the whole thing to reach the full impact of the ending. It's not really a book where things happen every second--it's a diary, for God's sake--but as you read it, you realize how Anne matures and sees the world and Holocaust around her. Everyday, Anne and the others in the "secret annex" are facing discovery, which is pretty freaky. If you're looking for exact numbers and facts on the Holocaust, though, the Diary of Anne Frank isn't too great. Basically, it covers the emotional factors of going through the Holocaust...and how Anne matures from it, starts thinking for herself, and all that other puberty stuff youngs girls go through. In my opinion, it's the best book on the Holocaust, but I'm just one person! It's not really that long, so read it and judge for yourself how good of a book it is for your project!

I have - but my summary would be too short to be helpful. Perhaps go to Amazon and read a synopsis, or I'm sure you can find one on the web quite easily.

A long time ago.
She goes into hiding with her family during WW2 as they're Jewish & being persecuted by the Nazi's.
They're eventually discovered as one of their family friends reports them, and they're sent to concentration camp.
Some of her family are killed.
I think she dies, too.

Grit your teeth and read it. You still have time. Are you just lazy? Do you always expect other folk to do your homework? Get a life.
