Forgive? No I don;t think so. But I do believe that eventually tolerance will prevail. History is written and cannot be changed, so the stories of the injustice will live on and many will be incenced by what their predecessors did before them. They will grow up with a different view and attitude towards the red man and the Mexican and try to amend the wrongs that were put upon these people.
It is sad that so many countries invaded others and destroyed cultures and nations. But that is the way of man and his greed for power. The indians did the same to other tribes as did the mexicans in their own internal fights. None are or were really different, it just irks me that we still have some of those boiased views alive in this century. So much for reconcilliation and THE UNITED States of America. We tend to see it (in Oz) as The United Mistakes

Sometimes it not about forgiving, it is about White Americans constantly reminding Indians & Mexicans where they feel their place in society should be. I am 5th generation American, my hertiage is Mexican.
I was born in late 50's, in grammar school it was practice & taught that that Indians & Mexicans were different from Whites.
In schools text books we are called savages & uncivilized.
When Mexican-Americans graduted High School, Student Advisors were instructed to steer them to Jobs instead of College(which I actually experinced)
The term that you used "Redskins" was used by the whites for the proof of killing Indians for their bounty reward. Where a piece of their skin was cut off and counted for reward. Calling a Indian a "Redskin" is like calling African -American a "N" The Media always remind us----Every crime that is commited by Mexicans & Blacks the race is always in the first paragraph. This is not the case with Whites.
Today with the Illegal Immigration problems. Whites do not look at a World Wide Problem, but only Mexican. I totally agreed the majority cross the Mexican Border, but the majority are not Mexicans. Because Mexico has their immigration problems too, but they are crossing Mexico to get to USA.
I have business in the Silicion Valley, and help my father with small resort in Mexico during peak seasons. But just because I travel to Mexico 2-3 times a year, speak spanish, have a nice tan does not make me less of an American. I just remember my roots, I love America & Mexico these are two Beautiful Countries.

I'm mexican and I don't have problems with americans, I just don't like the ones that treat me like an "2nd class citizen" just go to mexico were just the same as the US "we do live in the same area of the world" meaning we think the same way, just the problem is the government which is not doing enough plus Mexico just started the government they have in the 1900's and the reason's are because they were taken over my the France and then are land taken away and as a new started government it always has it's problems.

Yes or we will suffer a worse fate than can be imagined when we go to the next world.We do not like what was done but when you do wrong your fate is worse than you have done.I ask a question about whites because i wondered why they are calling others illegal when they are the original illegals.Although I have strong feelings I will never hate anyone.Its against my being.We are all humans.and are subject to make mistakes and are subject to being imperfect but the creator bestows a worse fate upon a human that he has bestowed upon others.Its not a good thing to hate.I have most of my life.Now I face the crossing and I wish I had not been so quick to hate,not my feelings are unchanged but I do not hate any longer.
