It is confusing, because supposedly Speedy Gonzales lived in Mexico, but he spoke English and the citizens of the little mice towns spoke English too. If it was really in Mexico, aren't the little mice supposed to speak Spanish and us to read captions in English?.
This is my conclusion, I think Speedy really didn't live in Mexico, must be somewhere in the border, but very close to Mexico.
Even tough it was located in Mexico, Sylvester wouldn't be illegal, my sister is an U.S. citizen and she lived many years in Mexico, she could go back and forth and there was no problem for her.

Man, that's deep. I always figured Sylvester was over there on vacation and got obsessed with chasing Speedy. Or maybe he took frequent trips down to Mexico because he was a masochist who loved the pain of getting beaten down by a mouse. Either way, I think you should ask Congress to get an official committee together to investigate this egregious immigration violation.

Not quite sure, I always thought Sylvester was on vaca too... Didn't they ban Speedy Gonzalez from TV in the states? Someone told me that they did that because he was "a bad example of mexicans" or something and that it was starting stereotyping against Mexicans or something...
