U can eat healthy food & do proper execrise. No need for lose weight & gain weight but most imp. is Ur hight & weight is praportionate. & i.e. very imp. I think , those thing if u have , so don't worry about , " how to gain weight without side effects."
U can eat 1 cup milk & banana in morning. And u can take advice form Dr.

Eat everything but not till you feel fed up. Stop before. Dont take food more than once. If your host compels you and you know it before than take very little first time and a little next time. Mind the total food you eat. Remember it is your stomach you have to think about in first hand. Take brisk walk everyday at least half hour.
Input =output = 0 gain (no storing in the body)
5 = 3 = 2 gain (+2) You are storing daily to a overweight
As simple is this.

You are right. Just gaining weight without any side effect is rare. You have to make sure you gain muscle tissue to gain weight and not the fat. It means you have to gain health instead of mere weight.
Let me make it simpler with four golden rule of gaining health:
1. Eat bananas dipped in honey and milk, every morning, without fail.
2. Exercise and burn your calories.
3. Make your diet more specific and regular and stick to it.
4. Stop junk food.
This is what I started to do 5 years ago and still doing. Wanna see my health? :-).

what side effect? there is no side effect if u eat proper food as told by dieticiean and eat more Protein in ur food do regular exercise, avoid junk food specially.

well eat gud food,stemed vegetables,thn fruits its juices,excercise daily,should take clean air,should remain hygenic,bath regularly i mean according 2 time,sleep also,clean clothes.Shouldnt eat junk foods n all.N mainly mind should be clean n clear.This is it.This'll help u a lot.
