I think you mean Out of body experience.
There have been many instances where people have been fully aware of their environment and yet been asleep with REM occurring and yet the body appearing to be at rest.
Some people who have induced or are in Coma are aware of all that is going on around them but cannot respond. That is why Medical staff rarely speak over unconscious or coma patients.
It is quite possible for the body to be in a state of rest but the senses to be on full alert. People experiencing these odd happenings often complain of not having slept a wink. Yet if observed appear to be sound asleep. Maybe this was what occurred to you in this instance.

If that happens again, you probably should seek help or visit a doctor or an expert or something of that sort...Otherwise maybe your just very concerned of what's going on in your environment and hence you're dreaming of your environment. For some time ago, I had trouble sleeping since I constantly woke up for something. Then I read an article about people who was afraid of dying any minute and they had the exact symptoms as I had! I woke up because I was afraid of dying sleeping...
Hope that helped...

OBE's are achievable... As a child, my brother and I use to play in our sleep. This also occured to my two eldest children while they were sleeping in different states. When my youngest child lived in another state, we too played in our sleep. It is common in my family to be this connected to each other.

Although you show signs of a classic OBE, I would still suggest that you consult your doctor as these are also symptoms of other causes. I would not disclose my opinions on what the other causes could be. You really do need to consult your physician...

I've been in therapy for sleep disorders because I am a chronic sleep walker and talker...and this is actually a pretty common symptom of people who sleep with their eyes open! Maybe your bf saw you from a strange angle and thought they looked closed.
