You don't mention your OS. Try turning off system restore, delete all saved restore points, virus scan your PC and delete quarantined files. Shut down and restart - rescan PC and once all clear re-enable system restore.

Not really. Its probably reinfecting its self because you are visiting the same sights on a regular basis and its those sights that are infected. AVG detects and cures worms etc but does not neccessarily stop them coming back. Worms mutate slightly on a regular basis so AVG, Norton etc wont be able to prevent them. Dont panic though. Thats what AVG is for and its the best on the market in my opinion. Most worms are not really a major threat but you dont want them sitting there for a prolonged period. Just make sure you run AVG on a regular basis. Its always better to be safe than sorry. All formating will do is take time to get things back to the way you had it origionaly and you may still get them. Every computer gets viruses etc from the net. Its a never ending battle.

Try deleting the files if they are not important. If the files appear again means that there is a virus that avg is not detecting but is infecting your system. Download another AV and scan.

You may need to switch off System Restore as back up files will be hiding in there, and it will just restore itself. Go to Start - programs - accessories - system tools - system restore.
Run your anti virus and anti spyware in Safe Mode. To get into Safe Mode repeatedly press the F8 key after the bios screen loads but before Windows loads. You'll know if you made it because the screen will be at 800 x 600 and your pc will be slow.

AVG so I am told is good at detecting viruses but is not that good at removing the infection, but then what would expect from a free download, I use Norton Symantec Internet security and am very pleased with the product not only does it protect my computer, it also looks after my email as well. in this ever changing world you only get what you pay for so don't expect AVG to work as well as Norton Symantec, if you want something to work well, then pay for it. good luck.

Try scanning in soft mode with AVG, it just isn't picking up something. Try Bitdefender which is free for a scan and/or second opinion. Good Luck

shouldnt avg provide real time protection like many others (norton, mcafee etc...)
which would pick up any problems right away instead of waiting for a scan?
and what little it finds it doesnt get rid of as you noticed
try this online scan

They're probably coming back from something lurking in Restore. Do like ragingmk says.
