drink more water, walk a brisk mile, add more fiber to your diet *eat green leafy veggies, cabbage is great* I know you are avoiding laxatives but things like coffee have enough caffine to stimulate your system and help along bowel movements. Avoid bananas, cheese, and other foods that will bind you up. Also, look into any rx medications you maybe taking many of them will cause constipation.

lets get graphic for the sake of getting things moving. While your on the toilet gently push as you normally do, and try rocking gently from side to side without raising either cheek. this will gently work the clog out by the natural motion of the body. Take a good relaxing walk before you try this, and most importantly, dont strain when you push, this is the way hemmorhoids are formed. Also, remember to balance when you rock, no one wants to have paramedics rescue you in the crapper.

Lots of water and lots of fiber. Prunes or prune juice are good...so are the high fiber cereals. You don't want to take laxatives unless you just have to. Laxatives give a rebound effect. When you take them regularly, your colon gets lazy and you need laxatives more and more frequently.

Lots of oatmeal cooked mushy soft and with honey or sugar and a little half and half cream poured on top. Eat that for a few days and you'll get regular quick.

Works for me every time.
Make sure you have plenty of fibre in your diet in future, it will help to prevent constipation. Try All Bran with sliced banana and top with natural yogurt.( No Milk)

You can try some asana(posture) of yoga. though it never worked for me but it worked well on others. In India people are crazy behind it lol!!!
