Replacing the motor in the blower compartment is not that difficult a task provided that the person doing it possesses some mechanical & electrical skills. Having the proper tools also helps. Nonetheless, doing this can sometimes turn into a real can of worms for the doer.

Good luck.

Firt, remove the motor. There should be a plate on the motor with all the specs. It will have the horsepower, voltage, cycles, rpm's, shaft length, etc.

Any lowes, home depot, HVAC supply store will likely have what you need. You can also call, or look online, with Grainger. They typically have the lowest prices I have seen. When we would order from Grainger, we would have what we ordered the next day.

Installing it will be just wiring it the way the old one was wired. It should come with a scematic of sorts telling you which wire go where.

It isn't that hard of a job. If you run into problems, I would then call someone to look at it.

Something like this, unless you know what your getting into, best be left to someone that knows what they're getting into. You'll notice I said "getting into" because this can, and has been a real job when you have to hurry because of time.
First your going to have to find the part, then know what your doing, I'm not saying you don't know, just that it's not an easy job. then you'll have to get it going. I have done this, and had it turn into a real nightmare with, three or four days of work due to wrong parts, missing parts and long rides to get parts, wishing in the end, I'd of hired it out at a cheaper rate.
Contact the company first, have them send you one "pony express" if they're still in business. Or, if they're in your city, go get the right part and all parts included like the bearings, etc.Good luck

First take out the blower and remove the squirrel cage fan from the shaft. Determine any written specs on the motor. Or determine model # 's on the furnace itself. Then query the part on the internet or go to your local HVAC (heating ventilation and cooling ) supply. It IS a repair you can do yourself. Then check out the awesome allerganic heating filters from the "3M" site called "Filtrete"., Good Luck,

Have you tried the reset button?blower motors r easy to replace, you do not need to go through the company who made the furnace,it might be cheaper to have the motor rebuilt if it is gone,be careful of the wireing if you choose to do it yourself.
