Easiest way is to get a utility bill in your name and pay your bill on time. Also rather than getting a prepaid mobile phone service, you could change and pay for the bills at the end of the month. However, you must be disciplined enough to pay your bills and to pay on time.

Start with a utility or phone bill. Always pay on time.

Then move on to a store charge card. I started with Sears and JC Penneys when I was in college. Use occasionally, pay on time.

From there, move on to Discover or Amex. Discover seemed to have lower standards than Visa or MC when I was young and credit-less in the 80s. Might be different now. Amex is not a credit card, it is a charge card (must pay off every month), but it should help your credit.

From there, move on to things like Visa and mortgages.

Get a checking account at a credit union and then get a credit card with a small amount of credit and use it for small things only. Pay off the balance monthly this will help your credit.

Head to "US BANK" with some money and fill out papers to open a "secured credit card".

Say you have $500.oo, you will get a credit card with $500.oo limit. Each month your will get your bill and each month YOU MUST pay it off in full. Your $500 sits in the bank like an insurance policy to the bank. You don't pay your bills, they get to keep it. SO SIMPLE.

Pay off your credit card each month for one year then you get to up your limit and get your $500.oo back. Thus the credit cycle has begun!

Pay off the card IN FULL each month and life will be good !!
