Just rename it. Right-click it, choose Rename. If it's "Pic.bmp", change it to "Pic.jpg". Make a copy of the original file (copy/paste) to another folder first, in case the changed file won't work. It will warn you that the file might be unuseable if you change the file format, but I've done this a thousand times on XP and it always works (but do make a copy like I said, just in case).

The best way is to use a software specially designed for this, like Photoshop. But if you don't really mind to loose some quality, just open the photo with paint (right click the picture - open with - paint), and then select file - save as..., write the name of the picture and select from the drop-down list *.jpeg or *.jpg. :D

Just open the photo and go to your toolbar and click file and save as, and you will get a window open and at the bottom click JPEG. Ypu will have two copies then 1 in bitmap and 1 in jpeg

well. heres the easy solution... may or may not work... You can try opening the file then go to "save as" and rename the file and under the file type in the drop down choose Jpeg.

Open the file in MS-Paint and use the sequence : File - Save As - Save As Type - JPEG and then save it. That's all you are done.

try to save it again as ipeg, if this way doesn't work, try to send it your e-mail, open yr e-mail and save it again in your computer as ipeg, i think you know how change the kind of file
1-click save
2-put name for the picture
3-change kind of file form bmp to jpeg
4-choose place where you want to put it
5-save
