Yesterday, my 17 y/o son & I went to our 1st monster truck show. I could not help but wonder how much fuel they use.

A monster truck engine burns up to 2.5 gallons of methanol per run (approximately 250 feet).



Most of those trucks have over 1000 horsepower, plus the weight of the vehicle is at a minimum of 9000 pounds, that is allot of fuel...

8m to the gal mix between jet fuel and super with a shot of nitro here and there

I Imagine that they use a high octane racing fuel that burns maybe 2 or three miles per gallon.

'bout 5 miles per gallon...thats not stop and go mileage
