Want to find out more information on Modesty Blaze?

In the show Faking It when the cleaning lady becomes a burlseque dancer her mentor throughout was a burlesque dancer called Modesty Blaze. I am trying to find out more about her & her perfomances, I've done a Google search but don't think I am spelling her name right. Can anyone help?
