How to shutdown a Windows Mobile phone? ie. You want to change the sim card.?

All i know is that you have to take out the battery to off the phone. I guess using this way will damage the phone in long run. Any better idea?

I am refering to Windows mobile 5 phone like hp 6828.

Taking the battery out to install the card will not have any effect on the batteries. Just like if you disconnect the car battery. There is no long term nor short term effect.
