I gave my ex a second chance. And within a week he didn't even have the guts to tell me I had to just find out that after years of dating he was planning on leaving me for another girl. Later we were talking and he told me that my catchng him red handed didn't make any difference, he would have just found a sneekier way to get around me. However, my fieance informed me that eh cheated on his girlfriend before me, and I know for a fact that he has never even come close to cheating on me, in fact, he has been asking me to marry him since the third month we were together. I think, once a cheater, it is hard to break the habit until you find something you know you need to hold on to.

yes, twice.
The first time I was pretty young. I found out my girlfriend was having a sexual affair with her landlord. I politely dumped her. within a week she was apologetic and I took her back. Thinking back, I don't think the other relationship ever ended, not before ours did anyway.
Since then I have learned and believe that one a cheater, always a cheater. No one can change their ways.
My wife was married before. That relationship broke up after she had had one to many extrra marital affiars. She told me this in honesty and I accepted that. I was, and still am, quite in love with her. I know she has had several adventures since then. So long as she is descrete about it and honest with me I am OK with it. It's the dishonesty that can ruin a relationship.

2nd chance after cheating? I would never give him 2nd chance, he would try to cheat again someday. A cheater always a cheater just like you said. If he loves you so much, he would never cheat

I gave my first girlfriend a second chance...then a third chance, and in the end, I broke up with her. After that, I don't give second chances. Once the trust in broken, it's been polluted. So if you give chances, it's only prolonging the inevitable breakup because of that pollution. Not always, but 90% of the time.

Yes, first missus, think I played the game on getting home from work "guess who's been sleeping in my bed today?" Give her the benefit of the doubt more times than I could count. Eventually, I threw her out.

I have given a 2nd chance to my ex-girlfriend. My friend has done this too.
In each case, it was a mistake. People don't change.
