What kind of Internet service are you using? Does the router connect directly to the Internet or into a modem which then connects to the Internet? If Internet explorer is causing this problem, you can try doing a trace route through your network by using command prompt (can only be done on a windows computer and/or a virtual windows computer).

Follow these steps to perform a trace route:
1. Click start.
2. Click run.
3. Type in the "open" box: cmd
4. In command prompt, type tracert "website name" (eg. tracert yahoo.com)
5. See what happens. This process should tell you each loop that your computer goes through to get to yahoo.com. You can also try another website if that helps.

If you cannot get to yahoo.com or another outside website, then it is your connection to the Internet. Please contact me if you are still having trouble. Hope this helps! :-)

HI there, have you tried the setup internet connection wizard? Try that by opening up IE, Tools menu, Internet Options..., click on Connections tab, and then Setup button. Follow it's instructions and try again. Also check if your lan card drivers and TCP/IP drivers are installed thru the control panel, network icon.

Also, some routers requires you to install their CD and setup their box so u can get internet to your computer.

Hope this helps.

well what type of connection do you have? If you have dsl/cable make sure the modem is plugged into the WAN port.

Then you must configure your router.. logon to the web-based configuration. The usual ip address is 192.168.0.1. Then go and setup the router WAN setting based on whether you use DHCP to connect to your ISP or a static IP address. You'll need to know your IP address, subnet mask, and dns servers for this. Most likely you'll need DHCP.

That's basically it.
