Out of that lot I prefer the toshoiba because I set up the Dell's at school and out of 35 5 were dead when they arrived and had to have new hard drives.

I have had 2 friends that have had problems with the HP laptops

IBM don't make the thinkpad anymore so they are a rip of because it is a budget computer with an IBM sticker on it sold at an expencive price.

Sony's are good computers but they can be expencive, as with apples and if you haven't owned a mac before they are expencive to set up if you have had all windows based systems as you need new software.

I bought an Acer because they are god computers at a reasonable price, but if i didn't get the acer it would have been a Toshiba. I love the acer and would recommend it to anyone

I Have used Dell, IBM, and Sony Laptops... what I think is Dell is no where in competion with the other, unless you look at the price, for the price it asks it is no bad...... IBM laptops are good when it comes to usability and design... and Sony has the best possible display...

If you need the laptop for your work i would recommend the IBM machine.. and for home and personal use Sony is the way to go...

I think Dells are best, though they tend to have physical problems, rather than technological ones.
