Most definitely! I know that movies often stereotype. Personally, I'm in a sorority and I found that they touched on various aspects of Greek life. The only thing is that our sorority doesn't step at all and they didn't include any of the business aspects. People just need to remember that it is just a movie and there are certain things in the movies that are included just to make it more interesting.

Isn't the focus of this movie Black Greek organizations? As far as I know those are the only ones that "step" although all Greek groups have their own rituals and customs.

There are non-race based Greek groups, race-based, religious based, etc. For a movie to make "it seem like Greek organizations recruit and their main focus is stepping" would make it appear that one would think ALL Greek groups step, and I doubt that would happen since there is so much diversity in the Greek system.

IMHO, the movie Animal House made it look like all Greek group members wore togas and drank beer, and that was a more accepted idea of Greeks because so many Greeks are out there in the "real world" who did the toga and beer thing. There aren't many Black/ethnic/non-traditional Greeks out there to make stepping much of a mainstream idea.

It wouldn't a bad thing to see ALL Greeks diversify more though and see grooups adopt other customs/cultures.
