I'm in my early twenties and I feel like I've freakin' AGED since I started university three years ago. The short breaks in between semesters just isn't doing it. What do you do when you're trying to keep yourself sane throughout your studies? Yoga? Dancing? Movies? Spas? What? WHAT can I do that won't be too expensive?

Thank you.

Take at least a half hour or so, or whatever amount of time that you can afford, to relax every day. Watch TV, play on the computer, drink a beer, soak in the tub, or just plain sit on your butt. That's what I did and it helped me. Just make sure you budget your time and don't overdo it.

Usually I would do so at night, after all my studies were over, and it would segue into my bedtime anyway. I needed to do this every day in order to maintain my sanity.

I agree with the previous posters about exercise. I would always try to get on the treadmill at least 2 or 3 times a week for a few minutes or half an hour if I had the time. It was a destresser for me. If you have the time, try to do some kind of physical activity a couple times a week, and I think it will help you unwind.

What do you like to do? Do that. I'd go out dancing, get drunk, used to smoke the funny stuff, have sex, watch tv, read non-school related stuff and just hang out and eat! I also moved overseas to take a break from school too and work, but now I'm doing distance education with my university.

Of course you have aged! Nothing wrong with that.

i'm in college as well, so i understand exactly where you are coming from.

my secret to not getting overwhelmed is.... nothing.

spend some of your free time (the few moments you get) doing nothing. lay around for awhile. it helps me focus better before a big project as well, because my mind isn't still stuck on what i was doing before.

confide in a good friend, schedule time for yourself and stick to it, workout...even if just 15 minutes of walking stairs will help your mood. try hot bubble baths with no phone and relaxing music
