Yes. Good relationships tend to have a balance. For instance, my husband at times looks at the big picture while I look at the immediate. That works for us. I wouldn't call this your cliche 'opposites attracting' because that's not it at all. Here's another one for ya...usually in the relationship one of you love to have sex at any given moment of the day....then the other can usually take it or leave it. If it weren't for that balance, either you would A. be having sex all day and not accomplishing anything or B. never have sex...and well, that's just not good either. I think the balanced type of relationship is the best. Just imagine what it would be like if you were both very mellow (BORING) or if you were both very extorverted / loudmout (no offense). That wouldn't work either.

You are obviously concerned or you wouldn't be looking for outside input. I think that's the issue. In addition, "mellow" and "outgoing" are not clear terms. I would agree with a lot of the other answers (except "submissive" guy") But I'm not sure I know the real issue...

Of course! if you were both mellow, nobody would ever do anything. If you were both hyper, you'd tire each other out and die early, violent deaths.
I'm a believer that complements are good, and that opposites do attract.

frequently, i'm a noticeably mellow human being, Rita. and that i'm certain i grow to be born with style B genes. yet...noticeably even as i grow to be youthful i'd get truly agitated and worrying even as i grow to be lower than pressure, and laid back even as existence grow to be widespread. traditionally, I truly were a touch shy and reserved. yet when you consider that I truly are transforming into older, i'm more suitable expressive. I comprehend that existence is short, and that i favor to bypass for the gusto.

why not?? you hear opposites attract. Its more than being introverted or extraverted to make a relationship work.

as long as u allow him to be exactly who he is, and u realize there are differences in u, that maybe can't be changed. just allow him to be him, without finding fault in him, or without expecting more, and u should do just fine. trouble comes in when people try to change people over to suit themselves, and it just doesn't work.
