The incoming (from well) and outgoing (to house) pipes were frozen in my water storage tank vault. I was able to thaw them with an oil-filled heater and water is now going into the tank & the tank now has pressure. But I still don't have hot or cold water coming into the house. Pump appears to work. Water line cutoff in the vault and in the house are "open". No puddles of ice or icicles under the house. 24-48 hr estimate before the plumber shows up. Any ideas of what to do while I'm waiting to see if I can get the water flowing again?

There are a few places you can check, I've had the pressure switch freeze and had to use the hair dryer on it. The volume control on the tank can also freeze. The tubing going to any of these two objects can freeze. Double check everything and use a hair dryer.

Then that means that they are frozen in another location, keep doing what your doing, you will eventually find the spot that is frozen.

I have actually heard of people puring anti-freeze down their pipes to keep them from freezing over. I wonder if it really works?
