How to ger breast implants on the nhs?

Question

I asked a question about how much they cost and a few answered saying you can get it done on the nhs, how would i do this and how does your current breasts have to affect you now? also is there a waiting list?thanks.

Really i think you are unlikely to get them done on the NHS unless you are severely depressed by them and you would have to prove it over many years. Think about it, the NHS cant afford to give important expensive drugs to people so why should they be prepared just to give you bigger boobs.

To get implants on the NHS you would need to convince your GP that it was damaging your mental health and that it would be in your best interests to get them done. Tell your GP that you are feeling really depressed over your boobs and they make you feel extremely self conscious and you feel like you cant go on anymore because its affecting you so much Just really exaggerate your case! there is a VERY long waiting list on the NHS for breast implant surgery,if you have a problem with your breasts-eg one's noticeably bigger than the other or you're getting back problems because they are so big then you might get it done on the NHS.If you're wanting breast implants just for a cosmetic look ( you want bigger boobs) then you'll have to go private.It's cheaper going abroad for the surgery,check it out on the net.To get it done private in the UK it can roughly cost £3.000-£4,000.Go and speak to your GP first who can reccommend a good private plastic surgeon.Good luck

NO ONE needs to have breast implants. They just need to get a bit of self confidence. Be happy with the way you are and leave the NHS to sort out REAL operations for those that need them.

you will only get surgery on the NHS if you need it because of physical or psychological problems.

h if you have had a mastectomy for breast cancer you have a good chance of getting implants on the NHS. If you just want bigger boobs - tough.

You would need to see your GP it would depend on how it was affecting your mental health personally I would never have any surgery other than what is necessary only we are all different mind you I am 48 if it is what you want then go for it good luck

its not as simple as that, you have to be really depressed about your breasts and you have to prove that it is having a Major effect on your life

You would have to prove that you are substantially disturbed by the condition of your body as it is now.You would have to demonstrate severe depression ,caused by your physical condition.
