Ok, so I know usually, the guy buys the woman gifts for Valentines Day.
Is it expected (or typically done) for a woman to also give a gift to their guy? Or is this the day where the woman just receives?

Basically, what should women do/give on Valentines day?

If your lucky enuf to have a guy that 1.) realizes that Feb. 14th is Valentines Day & 2.) Is sensitive and cares about you enough to try and make you feel special...I would have a gift in the wings that will let him know how much you appreciate him & his thoughtfulness (even if his gift or plans end up a flop) Traditionally it is a day when the guy is sposed to be the romantic hero,so I guess it depends on your age and expectations. I think the perfect senario is both partys surprizing each other with all the romance they know will make their significant other feel special and loved.Don't need to go broke doing it. Little things mean the most sometimes. Good luck & "Happy Hearts Day"

What a great question.

The answer is yes. Love is something both people share together. Love is a give-take committment. There are some gifts that women get rather than men (flowers usually)

but us guys love to recieve gifts. Sure. We love toys.

Sneak us some chocolate, jelly bellies or a PSP if you really want to go out. Can't go wrong with gizmos and gadgets right?

I am 26 years old. Been in 3 long term commitments. One lasted 4 years and my current for a long time also. I love giving a woman what makes her smile. But I love it when she does sweet things for me too. Thats what makes love fun.

If this helped you, please vote it best answer. I would greatly appreciate it

It's a girls day from the standpoint that women are typically more into it than men. But fair is fair. If you get, you had better give. If you have a boyfriend, get him something. It doesn't have to be fancy. A $20 Starbucks card for a coffee drinker, for example. Bake him cookies. Anything so he isn't the one doing all the giving.

Valentines day is a two-way thing. Yes, it is almost expected of the man to do the flowers and the dinner kind of thing, but both parties would exchange cards and gifts.

Women don't get let off, they just get something in return for all their hard work...

I think it goes both ways, so yes women should get their guy something on valentines day, but what to get is up to the woman to decide

Yes, women should give gifts too. Cologne, make dinner, items of clothing, something he really wants. Evening in a hotel.

If no money, give him an IOU book for things like 1 full Sunday of no interruptions while you watch sports. 1 day of no nagging about chores, etc.

Send him a card, or send him flowers on his job.

aside from the sex, you mean? :)

it's usually the guy who gives gifts on valentine's day.. but nothing should stop you from doing the same.

instead of the typical gift-giving, though, you may want to try the following:
1. preparing your guy a home-cooked dinner
2. treating him to a relaxing massage/back rub (and we know where *that* could lead..)
3. compiling some of your most memorable photos in a scrapbook
4. gifting him with some practical/fun/sexy (take your pick) coupons that he can "claim" from you. good for a year

I plan on giving my husband something for Valentine's Day. Probably just a DVD or something else he wants with pretty Valentine's Day wrapping paper and a card.

If you want a boyfriend so bad, then I highly recommend following this https://bitly.im/aOfKg Since you've never dated or been kissed before, it's going to be hard to get a boyfriend if you don't know what to do but once you know what to do, you'll be able to get a boyfriend pretty easily and can share your dating stories with your friends and experience those feelings yourself. You'll even be able to attract guys you might feel is out of your league. I suggest going on a bunch of dates before choosing one guy to be your boyfriend. Have fun.

I always buy a gift for my guy on Valentine's Day. Guys want to be appreciated and shown they are loved too. What to give is totally dependent upon the guy, whatever you know he will like and probably wouldn't buy for himself is good.
