It works for a lot of people.

The best use of it, however, is to be in bed while you drink it and prepare to go to sleep. Otherwise, any other activity could ruin its effects.

Yes Warm milk not sure about hot can help some to sleep better!!
I think this is a good way to help some go to sleep!!
You try your hardest to find a black square box
fully blacked in
in your mind
& you think of nothing else except the black box
& not a TV because that is not a square!
& before you know it
if you try hard enough to only concentrate on the black box
it is morning !!

A glass of warm milk does help you fall to sleep if you drink it very quickly after reaching an earth stoppimg climax during sexual intercourse.

It certainly helps some people, even though milk is meant to be quite difficult to digest. A hot chocolate drink works for me.

This is a Women's Health question, but it applies to men as well, I think.
In any case, drinking hot (as hot as possible) milk with some anise seeds in it to give it a nice taste, works fine for me.

there is a chemical in warm milk called tryptophan (the same chemical that makes you so sleepy after eating turkey) that will often promote sleep, but everybody's body reacts to chemicals differently.

Yes it actually does. Taking a nice, hot, relaxing bubble bath helps to. It relaxes your mind and you drift off to sleep.

It can - it is certainly a calming, soothing thing to do. Try turkey! Seriously, turkey has a chemical called "Tryptophan" which makes you sleepy. That's why we all get sleepy after our Thanksgiving and Christmas turkey dinners!

I've read that any food containing 'tryptophan' (?spelling) will make you sleepy. I know it is in turkey. I think milk as well but not 100% sure.

No it had protein in it which takes longer to digest and keeps you wakeful. Have a slice of cake or something candy and which will help. listening to an audio e book additionally helps.
