yes, but you have to clarify you are not breastfeeding. if you told them at any time you will be breastfeeding, they will not give you any formula. go back and exchange them. just be careful, they will pound on you for not breastfeeding. i have seen so many offices do this. personally, i breastfeed. but they way they pounce on the women that chose formula is ridiculous.

It sounds like you are preparing yourself very well. By having supplementals on hand, in case of emergency. WIC will provide your child(ren) from birth to age 5, (now maybe you should check with your WIC office, because each State may have different guidelines) I highly encourage all the moms I work with to apply for WIC at the on-sight of pregnancy, in order to obtain more of the vitamins & nutrients that Mom needs during pregnancy. However, with WIC there are income guidelines, but if you are eligible GO FOR IT! WIC will not send you a check, they give you vouchers to take to the store to pay for specific items, so you may want to ask directly. Good luck with your new baby, looks to me like your right on track, & I suspect you are going to be a good mom (Keep thinking ahead) GOOD LUCK!

I recently just got on WIC and told them I was supplementing and they still gave me 9 cans of formula a month. So I would def. talk to a WIC advisor.

Yes WIC provides formul for up to one year. For most it isn't enough formula to last through the month, but the majority of the month.

if you told them you were breastfeeding that may be the problem. you may need to provide a dr's note stating you need supplement formula or a reason as to why you're not breastfeeding. it's silly they make you go through this. i believe in our area it is enfamil that they provide and if another special formula is in order you will need to provide a dr's proof. you need to call them and see what you will need to start receiving formula checks to use. good luck.

Yes you do, from what I've heard. I personally have never been on WIC, but I feel empathy for those who are. You should request it. I knew this one woman who was on it. She had a really good reason. Her husband had been murdered while she was pregnant and she had no way to afford much due to her dependance on him. They also provide milk, cheese, cereal, and juice from what she told me.
