If I were going to adopt children/kids, I wouldn't try to choose some exotic or highly impoverished country when there are plenty of kids right here in the USA that are just that. I would find out where those kids are and take them in. I'm not Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, trying to make some math path around the adoptive world.

If I adopted a child, I would adopt the child only because I wanted to adopt the child and not to please any country or people or even God. I would also like to add that I am deeply religious.

My local community. Meth has left so many children homeless, it's not even real to me. I have a two year old and my neighbor has a child in kindergaren. There are postings all over the school begging people to take in the thousands of displaced children right here in Oregon.

Anywhere in the world. Children are a gift from God and sometimes those gifts are mistreated or abused. Children need loving homes no matter where they are from. I wouldn't care what race or country they were from. I hate to see kids who don't have a loving home life. It saddens me.
