I've never visited China - but just going through the combined Sales pitch with which Shanghai Jack, Linlin, Bing J, and now you, are bombarding us, I feel that the art of craft of advertising is seeping right down to the grass-root levels, and stagnating there !..
I cannot truly say that this is a change for the better : All talk, and no action, makes for a really dull business scene !

I am a Chinese that live in Beijing I can tell you that things have changed a lot! Since the 1980s my goverment give up planned economy and use the free market economy system. And the rewards of wealth are now rushing to us, there are now McDonald's and KFC everywhere. There is even a stock exchange in Shanghai! You can find productes from all over the world here when just 20 years ago there are almost nothing.

As for the human rights issue, things are slowly improving but there are still lots of room for improvement.We can watch TV progrems from other nations like CNN, AXN and even some shows from Taiwan(Of couse, to get these progrems cost lots of money) ! They also let the people read newspaper from all over the world to get in the (Again, cost a lot of money). You can make fun or criticize the goverment and you will be fine(As long as you don't send it to the newspaper).
