I believe in “give a man a fish he will eat for a day, teach a man to fish he will eat for a lifetime.

I would do something to help people to do better for themselves.

I'm financially comfortable and I never give one penny to the poor.
Poverty is a choice. It is almost invariably the result of poor choices. Any money you gave to a poor person would most likely
be spent foolishly and they'd still be poor. I'd have wasted my money and I don't like to do that. As an experiment a University recently gave a homeless man 100,000 dollars. He was broke in a matter of months. Howard Stern gave a homeless man 10 grand and he bought a drum set and hired prostitutes the first day he had it. Still poor, still homeless. The cure for poverty is education, not charity. I'd be happy to share my knowledge with anyone who doesn't want to be poor anymore. They probably wouldn't do anything with the information but I'd still share. Most poor people are also stupid and lazy. There is no excuse for it. If you go through a hard time, fine. But if it's life long, it's all your own fault. No sympathy here. No money from me either. Sorry.
If you're looking for a free lunch you'll starve to death first.

Great question.
So many people out there are struggling and then there are the ones who have tons of money, so much they could never spend it all in their life time.
I think they should help the ones who need it, make some kind of network that would be available to those whom qualify.
Just my opinion.
