Norton is the best thing, I remember workers from best buy gave me 2 virus protectors that is the best and its all for $100 but it didn't protect my computer from deadly viruses, until my bf told me about Norton. It has helped me so much and you don't even have to spend so much, well good luck, it has helped me for a year now = )

I like AOL Active Virus Shield. Don't let the name AOL fool you. Active Virus Shield is made by Kaspersky which is one of top-rated anti-virus vendors in the world.
In recent tests, the most popular free anti-virus, AVG, was only able to detect about 82% of a very large sample of viruses. On the other hand, Active Virus Shield was able to detect better than 99% in the same test.
Full test chart is here:
http://www.virus.gr/english/fullxml/default.asp?id=82&mnu=82
Active Virus Shield has excellent virus detection rates and is extremely light on using your computer resources. (6mb ram)
AVS detects and removes spyware, also.
And it updates 12 to 15 times a day with new virus definitions, 7 days a week.
Free for everyone from:

AVG. It is a virus program that detects a lot of viruses. It can be used as free or payed. In the paid one you get these:
Anti-Spyware
Anti-Spam
Firewall
64-bit and server support
24/7 Technical Support
High-speed updates
Multiple languages
Detailed settings
Consent for commercial use
AVG has a lot of updates that are big so they can detect most viruses also if there is a Trojan it tells you without having to open the program. This is the one I recommend. It can be found here:

I recommend Computer Associates eZ Antivirus.
Not only does it work really well, but it uses VERY LITTLE MEMORY, which is extremely great for your computer. There's also no stupid features that no one ever uses included.
Best of all, if you have AT&T/Yahoo DSL like me, it's free for the life of your Internet subscription!

Hey, if you have a good computer, I'm strongly recommending kaspersky 6.0 you can download it at http://www.9down.com/story.php?sid=7737, but if your computer isn't new try Nod32 http://www.9down.com/story.php?sid=7962 I don't like it very much because of its complicated control, but it's the second antivirus after kaspersky, and it requires much less resource of your computer.
