If you are straight edge, does that mean that you don't smoke or drink beer as well as not do drugs? I kind of need an exact definition of straight edge. Please and thanks.

I tried to find out a more precise definition for you, but it's almost impossible. What is straight edge to one person, might not be straight edge to another. It's all how one perceive what being straight edge is. To someone who doesn't drink beer and do drugs would be a straight edge person to someone who does drink/drugs, even if the straight edge person smokes and does everything else under the sun. Then again, even if the person that don't do drugs or drink, but smokes, they can think that a person who doesn't smoke is straight edge. Then again if a person don't do drugs, drink or smoke could think a person who goes to church is straight edged. Another example would be...how much is "a lot"? A Couple is always 2, a few is more than 2, but when does a few, become a lot (what number)? Each person has their own perspective on what a lot is, and where does a few becomes a lot. So, on the same token each person has their own perspective to what a straight edge lifestyle would be. I consider my lifestyle as straight edge, because I don't drink, do drugs, don't cuss, don't get into porn and if I'm in a relationship with someone, she would be the only one I need and I wouldn't have a need to be with another woman, however I do smoke, but still considered to be straight edged and thats only my opinion. If people think I'm straight edge, so be it, cause I am content and happy with the way I'm living other then smoking, and hope to give that up. As long as I'm happy reguardless of what anybody else thinks, because other can't make me happy, then I'm a great person. I know you wanted a more exact definition, but I still hope I helped you out a little.
