For me Knowledge is simply the door that leads to many paths of enlightenment.Knowledge is not a journey with a definate destination, knowledge continues on just as the life cycle continues on.Since knowledge is truth and the supreme being of truth is God,all knowledge is in him,so when we seek knowledge we must first acknowledge mans inability to attain full knowledge and Gods awareness of a'll knowledge since he is the creator of truth.Knowledge is something to strive for through out our lives, and not merely used as a gathering of facts but used to enrich the lives around us,and come out through our divine purpose.

Knowledge can be referred to as an Idea, it can be acquired through personal research or by sharing information among peers. People used it loosely because of the word "idea" that is used to inferred Knowledge.

The air that I breath, the clothes that I wear and the people that I love became part of my life from my own unique experiences. Knowledge captured me in every shape and form of colors, life and death. Everything is knowledge to all in their gallops through this world and therefore, it will be interpreted and used differently. Knowledge is me.

knowledge is a Miltie dimensional expression of a "feeling".Fellings coluld take many forms,e.g,there way of existance(visible/invisible,touchable/untouchable,testable/untastable,.....),there size(home,town,city,country,world,universe......),shape(big,small,large),u can't finish counting them, even the human race after all this time of evolution and mutation has come up with the the little understanding of some of them,E.g a computer(it is a great felling b/c it saves life),a car(could take u from here to somewhere far, with out u'r leg being affected),a house(protect u from rain,sun..),look at this objects they where in a persons head once up on a time(like "fellings")but now they are out there on the street or infront of u,helping the human race and helping u.
so knowledge is the understanding of this "fellings" for perfection,if u have some idea on how they should be manipulated ,then u might even save life

What exactly is KNOWLEDGE....lets get rid of the definition its most broad and quite frankly deceptive form.....KNOWLEDGE IS WHAT YOU KNOW (innit?)

The dictionary provides us with the following definitions:

1. the sum of what is known

2. acquaintance with facts, truths, or principles, as from study or investigation; general erudition

3. the body of truths or facts accumulated in the course of time.

For all the big brains out there (dont mean to be patronising) I am sure you wouldn't settle for these inept definitions for one second!!! Why?? Well because they are all incomplete, insufficient and bereft of proper tangible substance - and you dont have to have watched teh matrix to know that!

what do you "KNOW"??

People once "knew" that the world was flat!!...Is that Knowledge??

Is "truth" KNOWLEDGE??

It may have something to do with it but we must remember that TRUTH can be subjective, what is TRUE for one may not be TRUE for another.

WHAT IS KNOWLEDGE???

Plato said: for a statement to be classed as knowledge is must be; Justified, True, and Belived.

There are many who disagree with this definition saying its too broad still! And then ther are the staunch Skeptics...who would refute that KNOWLEDGE is attainable at all

Yes - I agree it is used far too loosely in this forum, but it is not used loosely in proper philosophy.

Basically, you cannot define "knowledge" any better than "what is known". Regretfully many people seem to extend this definition to some kind of esoteric search for the Holy Grail and mystic quests for enlightenment.

In philosophy, it is better to use the term "epistemology" which defines clearly the differences between "knowledge" and "belief".

Epistemology is one of the core areas of philosophy. It is concerned with the nature, sources and limits of knowledge. Epistemology has been primarily concerned with propositional knowledge, that is, knowledge that such-and-such is true, rather than other forms of knowledge, for example, knowledge how to such-and-such. There is a vast array of views about propositional knowledge, but one virtually universal presupposition is that knowledge is true belief, but not mere true belief (see Belief and knowledge). For example, lucky guesses or true beliefs resulting from wishful thinking are not knowledge. Thus, a central question in epistemology is: what must be added to true beliefs to convert them into knowledge?

Personal knowledge involves learning. Wisdom is the ability to define knowledge and use it to help all people in our circle.
