it's a random thing. sometimes your water may not break and they will have to break it for you. my water never broke and they ended up breaking it for me when i was diliated at 9cm. good luck and congrats.

It is completely random. You can't chose the day, the time, or the place. I would stick close to home. Your water doesn't always necessarily break, it can sometimes be the last thing that happens in labor before the baby is born.

I have 3 children and my water broke at different times for all three. My first child my water broke first thing in the morning I was just waking and was rolling to get outta bed, my second time it was like 9pm in the evening, my husband played on a pool league and had already had some drinks, and my third child was right before I had delivered her.

It might be something that happens spontaneously and it might be something your doctor does. Its all completely up to your body!

Hope this helped and good luck!

i would bet that it is random. only 10-15% of woman have their water break before going into labor. most the time it has to be done at the hospital. you should ask your doc questions next time you have an appointment or read information about labor

Have you lost your mucus plug yet? That was my biggest sign, I lost it for about 2 weeks before I had my son...Everytime I went to the bathroom I felt like a dropping feeling..it was weird..my water never broke tho they broke it in the hospital..I was 36 weeks when I gave birth..my son tried to make 2 earlier apperances at 32 and at 34 weeks

your water breaking is random, but you'll know when your in labor...when/if your water breaks go to the hospital right away, other than that lay back until the contractions are steady.
the doctor broke my water when I was 9cm, so it may not happen when your on your own!
good luck!

it's totally random, you have no control over it. They say that a woman's water breaks on it's own as often as a woman deliver's on her actual due date. not very often. But when it does happen it is the weirdest feeling.

dont watch what you see on tv, lol
only 10-15% of ladies water breaks before labor--everyone else the doctor is usually the one who ends up breaking it.

I gave you that bad Rating Idiot....

To your question( I wasn't calling you the idiot ) When I was in labor with my son, my water did't break until I was in the pushing stage, when it broke I knew because after your water breaks the Amniotic fluid gushes out with every contraction, it wasn't until after my water broke that I started to throw up and feel sick as hell. Whenyour water breaks it really feels like you keep peeing on yourself with every contraction.

it is random and will happen at the worst possible time, some women get discharge before it happens, and some women never know it broke
